Reflection: Miracles & The Dajjal

Assalamua'laikum
After reading the book "Membongkar Misteri Dajjal" by local publisher Hijjaz Records Publishing, I have been striving to describe to Musa about Dajjal in a way that he can understand.

Among which, is the point why Dajjal refuse to be a good person and do good things albeit Allah's nikmat for him and what are among the deceptions of Dajjal.

Pretty hard, don't you think? Since it is hard enough for the common adult to discern between what is among the deception of  Dajjal and what isn't. It isn't straightforward. It is not as straightforward and easy as black and white. Rasulullah has warned us of Dajjal's deception and lies and the dark side is preparing for his "entrance" into our world. A hadeeth tells us about how he brings forward "Water" and "Fire" and what it is in reality is the opposite. The water is fire and the fire is water.

If you would choose to feed your child great outrageous fictitious "stories" (read: LIES) like Santa Claus, Superman, Batman, Pokemon, Naruto and whatever thingamajig, why would it be too outrageous to tell a five year old about Dajjal and his deceptions?

I was watching a video on my friend's blog, the video explained about how the Qur'an reveals about the process and development from conception to a fetus in Surah Al-mu'minun. It described this revelation as being nothing short than mind-blowing at the time it was revealed and many centuries before it could be "proven". Especially, the minute accuracy of the word used : "alaqah" to mean blood clot, suspended and leech.

What struck me was the word "mind-blowing" and "miraculous". Dajjal will seem to bring forward exactly those things that may seem "mind-blowing" and "miraculous" to us. And further than that, he will appear to be THE saviour of the times. Just as all those fictitious superheroes are the "only" hope that saves the "world" created in our mind when we are hypnotized by the stunning plot and eye candy served to us by Hollywood.

So, two equally "astounding" elements. Only one can be true. Their "presentations" would stimulate the senses- and who will win our belief and pledge of faith/obediance?

Scary.
