Personal reflection for Tafsir Surah Al Qiyamah

Chapter 75. Verses 1-40
Reference: Tafsir Al wadhih, Mahmud Hijazi

The surah begins by swearing by two subjects of great effect, meaning and significance: Day of Resurrection and the oft-self-condemning human soul.

Then it immediately addresses issues between those two: on the day of resurrection, Allah is able to accumulate and re-create the human perfectly.

However, eventhough Allah is able to do so, man continues in wrongdoing and even arrogantly questions, "When is it?"

Therefore from verse 7 to 15, Allah describes what happens during armageddon and what happens to man. Planets are out of sync. And man questions, "Where is it safe for me to go?"

Man is told about his deeds, of which on that day he is both judge and jury for his own "cases".

Verses 16- 19 are about reading the Qur'an. Some scholars relate it to the aforementioned theme; how man on that day will read his record-book hurriedly in a useless attempt to escape punishment.

Hastiness or hurried behaviour is not good, even when doing a good deed such as reciting or memorizing the Qur'an.

Verses 20-21 returns our attention to the main theme: loving the current life too much and forgetting the eternal hereafter. This makes one lose accountability, religion, morality. Again, the scenes of the day of resurrection is described; the faces of the nadhirah and the baasirah.

Some dispute arise about the verse which says the ones with nadhirah will be naazhirah (looking , at their Lord) but the issue is settled with the argument that worldly "reality" differs from hereafter "reality".

Verses 26-30 describes what happens during death with an effective description in verse 29. With verse 27 comes a question, "a healer (for this ailment)?"

Then it describes a man's wrongdoing: his failure to subscribe to The Prophet and the Qur'an, to prayer (solat) and his arrogance.

This (type of) Man is condemned in verses 34-35. And verse 36 serves as a reminder, that man will be called to be accountable. And lastly, verses 37-40 summarizes the theme of the surah perfectly: man was a drop of semen; a clot of blood and then Allah completed and perfected his features. Therefore; the Power which created him the first time is fully able to resurrect him again.

Wallahua'lam.

Reflection: Humans ARE artificial (intelligence)

If everything was perfect and solved themselves easily then we wouldn't need Allah. We must accept the fact that no matter intelligent we get, there are still lots of things we DON'T have a solution for and we DON'T have an answer to. And in fact, for those "problems" we think we have solved, we still need to humble ourselves to Allah and rely on Him when solving them. Our solutions are never perfect. Example? A few decades ago we probably felt we were pretty intelligent with the mass production of plastic ware and tyres. But after such solutions for modern living, we are met with new problems borne of those very solutions, which is pollution.

We must accept the fact that no matter how much research we do, we still need Allah as the owner of perfect knowledge. Our knowledge will never be perfect an we can never really completely play it safe by relying on our knowledge and expertise.

Technology and science CAN NEVER replace divine revelation and Allah.

Allah comes before it and after it.

Note: Declaring humans as artificial intelligence really puts things into a perspective for me.

One Saturday Morning in Kuala Lumpur

7.22: syuruk on 9 march 2013

The clouds shine with 3 colours; white, dusky orange and a shade between or a shade after; it is quickly losing these colours. And becoming very bright.

Assalamua'laikum Kuala Lumpur, happy Saturday morning.

Chosen Mujahidat: Steadfast in striving for progress

Assalamua'laikum
Yesterday's liqo' usrah was at my home. We were doing the last points of Keraguan Yang Batil from sheikh Azzindani's book, Kitab Tauhid.

It just occurred to me now, that no matter how "small" it seems of what we are doing, but these mothers- some with desk jobs, some homemakers, some studying, mostly all with small children- these people are steadfast with Tarbiyyah. These people are those who choose to seek hidayah. All due praise to Allah for letting me be among these women.

Medicine: Not necessarily Allopathic

Reference: www.islamicwritings.org/quran/medical-miracles/the-healing-sound/

"Medical science has made rapid progress during the last two centuries; treatment modes have changed. This development has been largely focused in one direction: the pharmaceutical industry driven Allopathic Medicine.

Human beings have existed in this world for a much longer time. During all the eras and phases of history cure from disease has been of prime concern to mankind. Various holistic approaches have been explored and practiced based on a variety of philosophies. Even today people seek cure through other modes like the Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Unani Medicine, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, etc. And patients do get cured with them as well."

My note: Interesting of this practising Physician to specifically describe it as allopathic medicine from the  industry driven by pharmaceuticals. A precise emphasis though not necessarily a great one, but a significant one to show that medicine does not equal allopathic ones in definition and meaning. All other types of cures, remedies, etc are also medicine.
