Healthy breakfast: Oatmeal Porridge

Oatmeal porridge made with ground oat and instant oats, cooked with milk on the stove till it thickens, eaten with extras: crunchy muesli and a few teaspoons of runny honey.

1-2 cups of milk (1 for me, 1 divided between the kids)
3-4 table spoons of ground oats
1 table spoon of instant oats

Usually i let the milk warm for sometime before evenly spooning the ground oats on top. Stir slowly until the mixture is consistent. Some lumps are normal, try to break them up. Don't warm it too long, or it will get too dry and pasty. A cooled mixture will solidify a little, it becomes slightly pasty unless you used too much milk. Adjust to your own preference :for runnier porridge - shorter cooking time, more milk. If you like your porridge to be pasty (consistency like paste), cook for a longer time or add more oats.

At our home, we like to add crunchy muesli (toasted oats, slices of almonds, some raisins), and a few teaspoons of runny, raw, good quality honey. Yum!

Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for this Ni'mat :)

Note: Try to use healthy ingredients or extras, i.e raw milk instead of homogenized & pasteurized milk, milk instead of flavoured, sugared milk. Real, raw honey instead of fake honey. And do check the label of your muesli for any toxic additives.
